The difference between American Football and Rugby
For those who love this sport, American Football and Rugby are the very different sport. However, for those who do not know it, both sports can look very similar. It is difficult for ordinary eye to distinguish these two physical contact sports. The winner team also got sports trophies from the league organizer.
Origin
Beginning of Rugby in the UK are thought to originate from the 19th century. Proven in the 1800s, Rugby was introduced in the famous schools in England, while the American Football is estimated to further development of Rugby. It is said that the British took the game to Canada in the late 19th century which later spread to America. At that time, the two are not distinguished like today. In America, Rugby experiencing various types of technical and regulatory modifications in the game so it now becomes a sport is known as American Football. Geographical Location
As the name, ordinary American Football is played in North America while the usual Rugby is played in Europe, Australia and Africa.
Ball
In American Football used an oval ball. With a length of about 28 cm (11 inches) and circumference size was approximately 56 cm (22 inches).
In Rugby used an oval ball shaped like a ball in American football, but tend to be more rounded. With a size of approximately 27 cm in length and circumference size was about 60 cm.

Field

On the Rugby, field used a length of 100 meters and 70 meters wide. As in American Football, there are also lines to mark the goal zone, which begins near the goalposts but at the Rugby, line is named after a line-try. Regulation of Games
American Football is a game played between two teams, and each team consists of 11 players. Substitutions in the American Football can be done continuously and infinitely. In American Football, game made for 4 quarters, and a quarter is for 15 minutes, and interspersed with a break time after the second quarter. While at Rugby, games made for 2 X 40 minutes with a break time between them is 5 minutes.
